With the recent launch of the 2D metroidvania sidescrolling sandbox game, Terraria, we've decided to launch a Terraria Server alongside it. It'll operate differently to TempCraft, but it will still be here. Stay tuned for more info.
i just checked out what kind of game this is, because i never heard it before. my conclusion: .... its really crazy xD but i also read its available for steam only ?
Yes, it's steam only. Minecraft would have been steampowered too, but for reasons unknown (I'm guessing it's because Notch wanted all of the profits) it isn't. EDIT: TDWP_FTW isn't invited.
At the moment Terraria does not implement any authentication system, so a custom implementation is unneeded. It, instead, relies upon Steamworks DRM, which I believe is spoofable. Anyway, even in the event that a more secure system is implemented, I doubt that we'll be handling it the same way as TempCraft, purely because it's completely different (also not mod friendly, and much harder to reverse engineer).

lol. in the meanwhile that you have been busy i am running a server on my pc for my school friends. i can arrange something that a few people can get in. but 6 spots are already reserved (+1 for me = 7)
Can't wait until the Terraria server is released! Even though I barely know what to do in Terraria. For now, I'll just dig down until I reach hell.

You forgot rikai and hopefully xpmode. Also, is there any news on when Temparia will be released and if it will need legit Terraria to play?
